Family Fun Walk for St. Jude event to raise funds for kids battling cancer Contact: Jonna Barton Phone Number: 479-629-2863 or 996-2909 FORT SMITH, AR - A Family Fun Walk for St. Jude event organized by Let’s Lose Weight Management Center will power up on Saturday, Apr. 30 at 10:00am at Ben Geren Fitness Trail (Pavilion #2) to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the top children’s cancer hospital in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report. “Every child saved at St. Jude means children saved around the world - a direct result of cutting-edge research and treatment the set the standard in treating deadly childhood diseases,” said Jonna Barton, coordinator of the event. “Through events like Family Fun Walk for St. Jude, Fort Smith and the River Valley supports the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children everywhere.” This volunteer-based walk will feature a trip around the fitness trail with the whole family and activities for the kids. Participates can register the day of the walk or pick up a pledge sheet from Let’s Lose WMC and collect sponsors for their walk. Also, we will give out a prize pack to the person who raises the most money for St. Jude. We look forward to a great turn out of family and friends coming together for a great cause. St. Jude depends on community-based fundraising programs like Family Fun Walk for St. Jude. At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay.
